Thanks, Dave. I'll look into the QSee products.

I’ve been using a Q-see system for years. It has caught multiple incidents involving dishonest employees, public incidents, as well as a break in. It is worth it. Especially in an alcohol-producing, cash business.
When I have a new hire, they sign a company “Video monitoring policy” as well as being shown exactly where all the cameras are located. I inform them the cameras are for their safety as well as the health of the business. Just be sure not to have any audio recording enabled as that can cross the legal line of wiretapping.

    Prost!

I've been using the Nest systems for about a year now and can't complain.
It's nice that it saves video feed for a certain time. Not positive but I think 30 days

Thanks, Ryan. We'll check that out.

Warren--It's not my call. The boss has been agitating for these for a few years, and I've been able to put him off up to now. The latest incident was serious enough to push us over the edge.

    Some Challenges

Timm, I would urge you not to go this direction in joining the " Panoptic " age.
Its fully Orwellian, Not the answer to these matters and is leading us directly into a " Soylent Green " type reality.
Recommended reading and watch all the movies of which there are at least 2:
    George Orwells "1984."
The Human race did just fine in past ages without all this " Tek."
We need to return to operations methods that actually work.
After having seen the money sunken into these monstrous devices and the " Voyeurism " they seem to support, they turn into a waste of money very quickly in most cases.
They do not " Solve " the root matter of the problems at hand.
Wiring up the whole world in this manner is a patently dangerous affair.
and a symptom of a type of insanity that is now widespread.

We purchased ours at Costco. We figured if they didn’t work like we wanted we could return with no questions asked. Easy set up. I can check cameras for my iPhone whenever I want. Couple hundred bucks well spent.

    started a topic Surveillance cameras

    Surveillance cameras

We recently experienced a problem with employee theft from our brewery. Those folks don't work here anymore, but we want to forestall any further problems.

We'd like to set up a surveillance system, but I have no experience with these. Shopping around turns up enough brands and options to make my head spin.

Any advice from anyone using such a system would be greatly appreciated.
