Rain barrels or burn barrels, if you live in a rural or semi-rural area. We dispose of a few a month this way. If they have have gasketed tops and clamping rings, also advertise as air- and water-tight storage drums. Preppers love these.

Getting rid of a lot of drums
Hi all,
We have a product that involves hundreds and hundreds of empty 55 gallon drums at the end of the day. These end up being loaded onto a truck bound for our recycling company and then they send us a bill. I am very sure there are a few people out there who would really love to get their hands on hundreds of food grade coated steel drums in pristine condition, but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have any words to the wise about where to put out feelers for someone to make use of these things? Gardeners, "gardeners", etc, etc, is what I'm thinking right now....
