  • John Mallet's Carbonation/Bottle Conditioning Spreadsheets

    Happy Thanksgiving brewers,

    I'm looking for a copy of John's carbonation and bottle conditioning spreadsheet. I cannot find anywhere and those that have it have modified it so as to make it proprietary and unshareable. If anyone has a copy of it, please shoot me a copy: mike at hess brewing dot com.

    Much thanks!

    Cheers

    I don't have it, but why not contact John directly? He's a very approachable guy.

          I haven't seen John's spreadsheet, but you could try mine. The file name is Carbonation.xlsx and you can download it here:

          Access Google Sites with a personal Google account or Google Workspace account (for business use).

          WBK is an abbreviation for wort, beer, or krausen. You don't need to fill out the Draught Serving section to use the natural carbonation calculations. I hope this is helpful!

              Bottle Conditioning or Carbonation

              I have used and compared several beer carbonation or conditioning methods as for example;
              1. John Mallets.
              2. Eric Warner author of the German Wheat beer
              3. Pearson Square method
              4. Hubert Hanghofer author of the Gutes Bier selbst brauen.
              5. Mauricio O. Wagner author of Carbonatando con Mosto (Wort Carbonation).

              Will say all methods more or less give the same result, depends on the precision you may require, reason why I created my own based on several methods.
              I have the John Mallets Kraeusen file, however was not able to upload it in this forum because the file extension is in Excel.

              I will post later Mr. Eric Warner's method.
