  • Lactose questions

Well it has been years since I have used Lactose in a beer and I left my recipe at my old brewery. I was hoping some of you could give me 1. an idea on dosing (15 bbl system) 2. Where is a good place to get it. I thought I got it from our food supplier last time

    Cheers

To give you a ball park answer; 45-50 lbs of lactose would work for your 15 bbl system. This is a medium sweetness ratio that would work in a milk stout. Depending on your plans you may need more or less.

As to where you can purchase this much lactose, contact your brewing supplier to see if they can source it. For example, BSG Craftbrewing is one example of a brewery supplier which sells lactose in 55lb sacks.
