Here's a report back on the Anise in the Stout. The 1 crushed star (per 5 gallons) @ 5 min gave a very subtle aroma and slight flavor. I made an extract of 3 crushed stars and 3 shots Jameson Whiskey and let it sit for about a week, strained the anise stars and added the liquor to 5 gallons...very strong aroma and flavor... think Black jelly bean beer
