I have been having a discussion on a major social networking site relating to the USDA's stance on the inclusion of non-organic hops on the list that approves what ingredients can be used in a "Certified Organic" beer.
My personal view is that if (we as craft brewers), with ethics and moral inclusion, brew a beer labeled as "Certified Organic", we should strive to only use organic ingredients where they are available regardless of their cost differences.
my hope is that MOST if not all of us feel the same way about these issues and are not just following the USDA's guidelines for certification. otherwise we should all just get to brewing light lagers for the masses.
