  • Resistance FOB and other hardware

    Moin Moin and Hello,

I try to reach out to Micro Matic and draft line installation technicians but no one can tell me what the actual resistance of a Profit maximizer or FOB is.
We will also have the Bartrack system and this will increase the resistance too, not that much but a little.

Does anyone know the resistance of above named equipment?

    pm or voss.kevin@gmx.com

    Prost,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
I assume that if you are using a FOB that you are working with a long draw system and utilizing beer pumps. If that is the case then you don't have to worry too much about perfectly balancing your draft system. Install a 3 to 6 foot 3/16 inch choker line on the tower just before the faucet and adjust the gas pressure to the pump incrementally until you get a good pour. Hopes this helps!

    Cheers!

      Hello Richard,
      Thank you for your response.

So far I was not about to use a pump. Our longest line is 33ft and I was planing on using CO2/ N2 mix. It is maybe not the best but otherwise we need at least 20 of these pump because we have 20 taps between 25 and 33 ft. The resistance is high so we do not need a chocker line.

      cheers,
      Kevin

I'm with Richard in that you don't need to worry about FOB resistance. It will be negligible. I would also spring for pumps. Makes cleaning lines much easier. We have 32 in our cold room, so having a lot of taps isn't a good reason not to buy pumps. On the contrary, it makes lots of taps easier to operate and clean. ROI is fast. Best of luck!
