  • Start up equipment

OK, I posted this on the BA forum and didn't get an answer except someone wanting info to sell me something. I don't want that, I'm just looking for suggestions of stuff I might have missed. I don't care if you suggest something I already have covered; that's just confirmation that I made a good choice.

I’m currently securing equipment to start up. I have the big stuff covered: brewhouse & ancillaries, fermenters, chiller, walk-in, keg washer, etc. and a few smaller items, pieces & parts, and add-ons. What’s something that you didn’t buy at start-up, but wish you had?

I will be flying solo in the brewhouse for several months to a year, but have staffing for taproom and sales. What will make my life easier? What is a piece of equipment that you really rely on that isn't something people typically think of?

You don't give any indication of how many kegs you will be filling each week, but but if it is more than just a handful, then consider getting a fully automated multihead keg washer, e.g. a 4 head instead of a single head. You only spend a minute or so extra each time you load and unload, but can then ignore it for considerably longer between these attention periods, so can get on with other useful work instead of working virtually full time washing kegs.

I am considering a small beer canner, maybe semi auto is enough I guess, like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI4EApk76HI, absolutely it can keep beer fresher, cans are allowed in many places where bottles are typically not allowed, you plan to do just kegging ?
