    Oh my goodness. The cost of a single filter change on that unit will just about cover the cost of an entire backwashing carbon tank good for millions of gallons.     Phillip hits the nail on the head here. Nearly 100% of our brewery customers use a backwashing carbon tank(s) to deal with chlorine and/or chloramine. When correctly sized and configured they offer years of service with minimal maintenance at a reasonable cost.
