Auggie, you replied to a thread about HERMs and 3.5bbl systems. Can you send me pics of how you guys accomplished your temp maintenance? We don't have electricity yet, but will soon and I need to figure out what the maximum flow rate is without compacting the grain bed, you know? I favor a HERMs rig of 15gals if I can get the temp rise in the mash kettle. We're mostly concerned with mashout, but everything in between, too. The new system has to perform like the old system, you know?
  2. Yes the pump works well, It uses standard carbon/ceramic water pump seals found at a variety of places. I bought a replacement for $5 from ebay. you just have to measure the existing ones. same with the edpm oring seal. we use the pump for CIP and cleaning kegs and whirlpooling. its very powerful and easy to clean.
