Position: Cellar Operator

Key Results Areas
Quality Finished Beer Production
Highest quality finished beer production is the ultimate goal of the Cellar Operator.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Work safely
Have a passion for quality beer and workmanship
General cleaning and maintenance of workspace
Daily tank monitoring
Dry hopping/other additions
Beer carbonation
Fermentation tank and brite tank CIP
Centrifuge operation
Yeast management
Follow QC/QA cellar protocols
Adherence to documentation practices
Participate in regular sensory/tasting panels
Forklift operation
Support wild beer & barrel aging program
Evaluation of raw materials and communicate inconsistencies
Representative: The Cellar Operator will represent Trillium Brewing Company on site and at events, to other staff, the public/consumers, and business partners.
Consistently and accurately personify the culture and philosophies of Trillium.
Engage with consumers with knowledge and passion about the brewery and our beers.
Manage off-site events independently or with staff/volunteers ensuring we represent the brewery well at each occasion.
Qualifications
Experience: Applicants for the Cellar Operator position will have a minimum of one year experience at brewery or related industry.
Autonomy and Initiative
Trillium Brewing Company will rely heavily on all staff to work with high levels of autonomy and initiative.
Documentation is critical, including process deviations, and the resulting decisions, actions and expectations of outcomes.
Timely and reciprocal communication is expected.
High comfort level working independently in a lead role.
Fosters a culture of education, internal collaboration, and continuous process improvement.
Flexibility
All staff will be expected to fill multiple roles, and pitch in as necessary to ensure smooth operation and the success of the brand.
Willingness to do tasks outside the scope of the Cellar Operator position
Contribute ideas to ensure company's long term success
Accessible for remote communication in off hours
Knowledge and Skills
Sufficient computer literacy, writing and math skills necessary to accurately document brewsheets, inventory management.
Experience with Orchestrated Beer or similar brewing operations management software.
Physical Requirements
Ability to:
Frequently lift 60 pounds to shoulder height,
On his or her feet for up to 8 hours per day.
Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Tolerate being exposed to wet and or cold conditions.
Safely work near moving mechanical parts.
Work in a moderate noise level.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
