  • Minging Grist Hydrator

Has anyone come up with a clever way to keep their grist hydrator free from nastiness, or should I just accept that I need to pull the grist hydrator, gate and back to the top of the auger apart for a clean damn near every brew?

    Cheers,

Our first DME brewhouse had an inverted cone with water spray underneath. We had to take it off every brew and clean it. Our current NSI brewhouse has a different design, more like a ring of water the grist falls through, that stays clean. We do take off the tube from the grist auger to the hydrator and cap off the grist auger outlet so steam can't get up in there.
