Thanks Joe. Your post did what you said. I have just started spunding and am about to dry hop for the first time in a UniTank. So thanks for the great warning.

    Benjybo,
Interesting. We don't generally stop fermentation as a rule, at least in my history as a home brewer (21yrs) and a pro brewer (1yr 5 months). I let my beer ferment out and allow the yeast...

    CO2 Purge

At our brewery, I just added a stout type faucet and only have CO2 coming out of it. We use it to get CO2 into the can before we fill.

    Yup

I did some looking into the BJCP test. The old Beer Judge Certification Program test had ZER0 questions about cask ale. So not a lot of knowledge about cask.

    Agreed.

The formula does nothing, unless somehow you could use it to plan for the next brew except that you can't plan for an accidental increase in efficiency again.

Yes I do take the final boil volume measurement. Need that to know the efficiency and if needed to liquor back to get to the gravity I want.

I don't see how the OPs formula would work though.

    hmmm

I've not seen wild swings from milling.

That formula makes little sense. How can you adjust your hop weight AFTER you find your actual volume? Wouldn't the hops already be in your wort when you...

Interesting question. You could use a liquor back calculation and adjust your gravity back to where you wanted it, but that would not help you with hop additions.

How on earth did you increase...
