  • Glycol Needs for Bottler Bowl

We are going to be installing our PPM Evolutiuon soon and have some questions about sizing the glycol chiller for the bowl jacket.

    ...the following is from PPM...

"For the Glycol chilling, it’s ½” NPT female for in and out. The two jackets on the bowl are 5 feet long, 3 inches wide, sitting low where the beer would be at its lowest point (so it’s always in contact with beer until you totally run dry). It’s a pretty small volume, only about 48 cubic inches, plus whatever volume the lines and reservoir would take up."

The chiller will be located very close to the bowl... most likely on a shelf within 5-10 feet of the bowl.

Any recommendations or past experience would be helpful.

Not sure i this totally helps, but for our PPM bowl, we tapped into our glycol system for the serving lines as Fillbert (our loving nickname for the PPM) is located three feet for the walk-in and glycol loop. To wrap the bowl we twisted 1/2 copper tubbing around the bowl, then cover this with a neoprene jacket. the lines were then spliced into our existing glycol loop. they are regulated wiht simple stainless ball valves.
i can send you a picture if you want.
Good luck with the machine, you'll love to hate it until its broken in....
