  • Glycol Leaks in Fermenter Jackets

One of our 30 BBL fermenters has developed leaks in the the lower and middle glycol jackets. We have gotten an estimate to replace the jackets. In the meantime, are there food grade sealants that could be introduced into the jackets for temporary repair so that the fermenter could be used.

    Beer side leak?

If the glycol is leaking into the beer there really isnt much you can do other than get it repaired properly. If however the leak is on the outside of the jacket I have used Super Glue/Krazy Glue to repair small cracks in glycol piping and rusted welds on the outside of jackets. It works pretty well for a quick temporary fix.
