  • Packaging Manager

Mother’s Brewing Company, a start up production brewery in Springfield, MO is looking for someone to head up our packaging operations. We are finishing the rehab of a commercial bakery building in our Downtown area. We are beginning with larger equipment and capacity than the average start-up and intend rapid, steady growth. Join us on this thrilling journey. Most of our key equipment and personnel are in place, with this position being one of the final pieces of our puzzle. We look to start production by spring / summer 2011.

    The position can start immediately.

Our Packaging Manager will be responsible for all packaged beer operations, including but not limited to: managing day-to-day kegger and bottle line operations and any on-site take away packages; managing packaging material inventories and packaged beer inventories; scheduling and training packaging personnel; supervising and scheduling all packaging equipment maintenance; and working with Brewmaster to manage vendors and maintain competitive pricing on packaging supplies. Packaging manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving packaging line efficiencies and continually work to improve package shelf life and flavor stability. This person will also be expected to fill in when necessary in other areas of the brewery.

Packaging Manager will report to and work with Brewmaster to ensure a consistent world class beer is delivered to every costumer, regardless of the location or package.

Successful candidate will have excellent organization, leadership, problem solving and mechanical skills. He or she will work well independently and in a team environment, possess effective written and verbal communication skills, be able to follow and give directions, and pay attention to detail. This position requires the ability to lift 55 lbs repeatedly, work on one’s feet for long periods of time in a loud, wet, cold, hot production environment. This is a start up, so each day will bring new obstacles and require the ability to adapt, be versatile and wear many hats.

Prior experience in packaging, bottle lines, can lines is preferred. Experience in beer packaging is a bonus, but not necessary. A passion for quality craft beer is a must. Salary is based on experience and qualifications. Benefits are negotiable; we are phasing them in as we start up the brewery. EOE.

Please send resumes and any questions to: Brewmaster@mothersbrewing.com. No phone calls please.
