  • Connecticut brewery seeking a "Chief Beer Artist" (a.k.a "Head Brewer")

The Half Full Brewery is a start-up brewery that is planning to launch this summer in Stamford, CT. We are looking to interview candidates for our Chief Beer Artist position (a.k.a. the “Head Brewer”) in advance of this launch. We are looking for someone with both hard and soft skills, as outlined below.

    Hard Skill Requirements:
    • 2-4 years of full-time professional brewing experience at a production brewery
    • Experience in filtration, cellaring, cleaning, packaging, and brewhouse maintenance
    • A formal brewing education is a PLUS
    • Experience working on a 15-20 barrel system is a PLUS

    Soft Skills Desired:
    • Creative thinking – we plan on constantly producing experimental brews as well as experiential marketing events that will require the input of the Chief Beer Artist
    • Self-starting – the Chief Beer Artist will not only be given a significant amount of autonomy, but he/she will also be expected to take the lead on a number of initiatives
    • Leadership – the Chief Beer Artist is expected to help find, hire, and manage assistant brewers
    • Adaptability – the Chief Beer Artist will be asked to serve in many different roles that require that he/she use both the left and right side of his/her brain
    • Dependability – this is a start-up company and thus requires that all hands be on deck at all times
    • Passion – most importantly, the Chief Beer Artist must consistently show that he/she cares deeply not only about the beer he/she produces, but also about our company and what we represent

In a nutshell, we are looking for a production brewer who is hungry, smart, and has a deep desire to achieve professional and personal greatness. Our brewery is about challenging people to take the risk to pursue their dreams and this opportunity will be exactly that – taking a risk to pursue a dream – for the right brewer.

If you are interested in pursuing this dream, please email info@halffullbrewery.com the following:
    1. Resume
    2. References
    3. Days and times when you are usually available to talk during the week and/or weekend

    Thank you,
    Conor Horrigan
