  • San Francisco Lager Yeast strain for a quick Lager?

    Hi all,

So our company is wanting to bring out a Lager in our brands for the "Lucky" crowd here. I was wondering anyone experience in using the San Francisco Lager Yeast strain for turning out a reasonable facsimile of a Lager in the time frame of Ale? Being we're a small startup Brewery we don't really have much tanks or time in the busy season!

    Cheers,

I use it for a couple of my beers. It gives a cleaner fermentaion profile. I try to let is sit as long as I can in the fermentor, but have turned them in 2 weeks. Came out pretty clean, and flocks well. I filter the beer, and have not had a problem with too much yeast on the filter pads. I usually get 10-12 generations before getting a new batch.

Ditto Jim. Very clean, fast and floc's well. I filter or not, depending on the beer.
      Cheers!
