I am trying to start a brewery with a tasting room and running into problems finding the right space. I am eager to get this business started and was thinking of renting some small industrial space for a short term and installing a glorified home brew system. I would then start and complete the licensing process and also start making samples, working on marketing, labels, vendor contracting etc... I may or may not do an actual tasting room - perhaps only do it for the licensing aspect. All the while I would continue looking for better real estate to locate the brewery and tasting room.
My question is - how difficult is it to move a brewery in California? I know there are local zoning/building issues depending on the space my I am more concerned with TTB and state ABC issues.
