  • Mash paddle and hoe

    Hi all,

Does anybody have a source for a mash paddle and hoe? I'd prefer wood or plastic to the stainless steel I currently have.

    Thanks!

for a mash paddle, buy a composite boat paddle from a sporting goods store. I bought one for $20 and it works like a champ. Just don't leave it sitting in the hot mash...

Bit cheaper than GW Kent. On page two they also have a 40" paddle.

                cheap hoes

Never settle for a cheap hoe; you won't be happy. Remember that a hoe will get lots of use and abuse by everyone at the brewery, and therefore a quality hoe is well worth the money.

A mash oar is more like it.

                  My oar of choice.

                  Don't leave home without it.

                    Full disclosure - we're a sponsor of ProBrewer.com.

We have a line of plastic/nylon and stainless steel food paddles and hoes that are rated for high temperatures:
https://www.unionjackstable.com/brewery-paddles/. These are FDA-compliant and purpose-built for the food & beverage industry - safe for food contact unlike your oar from a sporting goods store . They also won't hold bacteria or splinter.
