Keg and Logistics

Hello! Had a question around kegs and logistics, particularly distribution of kegs. After a distributor delivers a keg to a restaurant, and then subsequently picks up the keg, what happens next?

• Does the distributor immediately send the keg back to the brewery?
• Do they hold on to it in their warehouse? And for how long?
• And when they send the kegs back, do they drop it off themselves or use a freight service?

I'd assume most distributors do things differently from one another so the best bet would be to call and talk to them to see how they handle kegs, but for ours they have a warehouse where they store the returned kegs and we just give them a call to pick them up in our own trucks every couple of weeks.
