  • Cold Storage Trailers

I'm looking into expanding my cold storage space, and I figured renting or leasing a cold storage trailer would be a viable temporary solution. Anyone have experience with this? Pros/cons? Are there any companies I should seek out or avoid?

    Cheers,

I've done that a few times. I recommend a 40' high cube for ease of entry. Also recommend using a container with a hybrid refrigeration system that allows you to plug them in OR run on diesel.

You may also want to consider purchasing units rather than leasing...IME you pay for the unit in about 8-10 months. A standard 40 has 37.5 ft of linear space in it, for a capacity of 42-44 skids packed two high. If you're stacking kegs, you should be able to get about 900 1/2 bbl kegs in by stacking to the top. That's a real b**ch to unload, though. Don't ask how I know.
