- Calling all commercial breweries - Help reduce the number of beer name disputes.

I am putting together a database of beer names so that breweries will be able to search it to help determine if the name is already in use. I have created a easy-to-use form that will allow you to submit your beer names. Submitting your name may help deter others from using your beer name(s) in the future.

While I think this is a good idea, there are already several ways to check beer name databases.

Searching TTBs COLAS, Ratebeer, Beer Advocate, and Untappd are all pretty good resources to check against.

Plus it assumes that all beers would necessarily compete against each other in a mark dispute. That isn't always the case.

I like this idea but it seems more appropriate to be hosted by an industry standard like the Brewers Association? And it should include distribution area.
