Used 500 Gallon Propane Tanks- Other Uses?

I've seen a lot of cheap 4-500 gal residential propane tanks for sale out there. If you brought one of these tanks to a metal fabricator to install ports, a man way, and legs to stand upright would it be possible to use one of these as a hlt or brite? They are pressure rated and stainless no? After all the modifications would it even be cost effective?

I don't believe they are stainless, defiantly not food grade. Would make a great BBQ or Smoker!!

I've never seen a propane tank that was SS, and I've seen a few--just spoke to our propane supplier: nope, no SS.
