  • Avangard Malterie malt?

    Anyone use/using it?

German Maltster, multiple plants, believe they supply Heineken or so I heard.

Local supplier has picked it up as a offering (LD Carlson).

    Thanks

    same

Awaiting some feedback on this malt too Sauce.
Seems to be less expensive than most. Can't wait to try, most say it gives you more extract than you expect.
    Any trials on your end?

I've talked to multiple people who tried it out and experienced way higher extraction % then normal (on beers they've made time and time again). I'd like to give it a shot.

We have used it, slightly better extraction. Malt is very "friable"?... think thats the term. crushes very easily with alot of fines. Our mash compacted quite a bit pulling more of a vacuum than usual.

Oktoberfest in D-rest tastes malty and clean using a large % of Vangard Vienns, similar to what I've experienced using Best.

Yes Indeed.. We compacted our bed couple of times too and got quite high Plato readings(than usual) on our last runnings. Finally got a VFD to control the flow rate on vorlauf and lauter so the results are much better.
