Goose Island is currently seeking a talented and passionate individual to fill the position of Educator. The Educator will join the Marketing team and be responsible for educating wholesales and trade partners in beer appreciation traits, prepare classes, cultivate relationships as well as handling media. Besides having enthusiasm for our products, the person with the best fit will be the one who has a solid background in the beer industry and great public speaking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports Goose Island’s wholesalers and trade partners with industry-leading educational resources for beer styles, beer appreciation, and the pairing of beer with food.
Prepares class syllabus and lesson content, procures and administers classroom materials and supplies, schedules classes, coordinates facilities and assistance, teaches classes, maintains records, evaluates impact of classes, manages a budget.
Cultivates a network of Goose ambassadors within wholesalers, may offer account level support to wholesalers (as time permits), and assists with training for all Goose employees.
Media savvy brand spokesperson who builds media relationships to become the craft beer segment “Subject Matter Expert” is assigned territory.
Requirement Description:
Degree Required
Certified Cicerone preferred
3-5+ years of related work experience in the beer industry (either wholesaler or supplier)
Open to candidate being based out of any East Coast major market, e.g. Philadelphia, NYC, Washington DC, Boston
Effective written and interpersonal communication and influencer skills
Strong time management, project management skills
Strong Beer/alcohol beverage industry knowledge
Media experience a plus
Strong public speaking skills that will command audience attention while conducting classes or in front of TV cameras.
Understanding of Selling process, Retail environment and Distribution network.
