Vancouver Urban Brewery is looking for an energetic, organized and passionate individual to fill the role of Brewmaster. The operation is a dynamic, exciting, and fast-pace environment with a growing team. As Brewmaster, you will be an important asset to the success of the business. Entrepreneurial attitude and passion for beer are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
• All Brewery operations including brewing, fermenting, packaging and draught
• Quality control and standard operating procedures development
• Innovation, style and recipe development in collaboration with the team
• Equipment and building services maintenance
• Brewery expansion management
• Recommends and contributes to strategic plans and reviews
• Recruit, train, motivate and manage staff
• Ensure that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained for efficient and reliable systems
• Vendor and budget management for supplies, ingredients, packaging, etc.
Required Experience and Skills
• Professional Brewers certificate or equivalent
• Brewery experience and hands-on working knowledge of a production brewery
• Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Quickbooks proficient
• Exceptional ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage own workflow to ensure quality and efficiency
• Ability to learn new skills and processes quickly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self motivated and entrepreneurial attitude
