Bent Paddle Brewing Co. is looking for a brewer with a minimum of two years’ experience brewing in a production environment similar in scale to Bent Paddle; 30 BBL brew house producing 7,000 + barrels annually. This person should have a great attention to detail, is highly motivated, has a good amount of energy and is flexible to deal with the ever changing environment of a rapidly expanding brewery.
Bent Paddle is a rapidly growing business, and our brewers are involved in many aspects of the brewing process; including brewing, cleaning, filtering and packaging.
This position is full time. Compensation TBD based on experience. Hours will vary and may require early morning and overnight shifts plus occasional weekends.
Must be physically able to lift 55 lb. grain sacks, drag heavy hoses across the floor and perform other physically demanding duties, such as moving ½ barrel kegs weighing 170 lbs. Forklift experience is also preferred but not required.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The complete process of brewing beer
Track all data points carefully during the brewing process
Yeast management
Cellar and fermentation management
Tank transfers
Filtering beer
Assist on the canning line
Clean and fill kegs
Stock and organize cooler, malt and misc. brewery stations
Equipment maintenance and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
Good understanding of quality assurance / quality control and problem solving and to troubleshoot any beer related issues
Work with brewers on QA/QC for product consistency
Brewery safety and OSHA compliance
Assist in tracking of weekly inventory levels and product availability
Cleaning is a critical part of brewing consistent high quality beer. This position requires a lot of cleaning; from tanks to floors and everything in between.
Brewery events + promotions as needed
