Departed Soles Brewing Company, located in Jersey City, New Jersey, is hiring a creative, experienced brewer to assist in running the day-to-day operations of its 7 Barrel brewery, to be completed in the late fall of 2014.
DSBC is located in the heart of Jersey City, just steps from the trains, ferries, and tunnels to New York City, and across the street from residential towers, commercial skyscrapers, and gleaming hotels. The brewery will be selling a great deal of its product right out its own doors, while also maintaining local distribution in Northern New Jersey and New York City. Originally the brain child of Brian Kulbacki and Christopher Ward, Departed Soles takes on the challenge of brewing quality gluten free beers that even the pickiest of Craft Beer fans will enjoy, all the while also creating unique non-gluten-free options.
Unfortunately, Chris Ward passed away in 2010 and Brian has been left to build the brewery alone and has already received accolades for his Gluten Free creations, as well as a degree from the American Brewers Guild Brewing School. To better serve the population, however, he has decided to bring on an experienced brewer to take the reigns of the brew house and steer it into uncharted territories of flavor, complexities, and craft with a kick.
Thus, Departed Soles is looking to hire you - an experience brewer with a penchant to pushing the limits of the pallet, all the while creating beer styles that everyone will enjoy. Responsibilities will be shared with Brian and include, but are not limited to:
The brewer that joins the Departed Soles will have his or her run of the brewery and have an immense influence on the beers that we create and serve to the world. He or she should come with experience in a brewery and a clean track record of safety. - Collaborating on recipe development, brewing pilot batches, and scaling them up to the larger brew house
- Day-to-Day brewing in the 7 Barrel Brew house
- Maintaining the cellar and fostering a clean, healthy environment for our wort to grow up in to delicious beer
- General maintanence, cleaning (CIP), and supply/ingredient management
- Yeast chaperoning (propagation, supply, blending)
- Representing the Brewery in the tasting room, for tours, and at outside events/festivals
