    In 1986, Harpoon co- founders Rich Doyle and Dan Kenary began brewing Harpoon in Boston to share with others the joy of making—and drinking—great beer. In 2000, we added a second brewery in Windsor, VT to keep up with the demand. We are passionate about our company and our beer, and we work each day together to create great beer drinking experiences. This passion has resulted in many changes throughout the years including our most recent announcement in August of 2014 to become an employee owned company. Though many things have changed since the early days of Harpoon, most things have stayed the same. We still love brewing beer and find that we enjoy it more when shared with friends.

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    Harpoon is looking for an individual to lead its digital marketing practice. Candidates must be highly experienced in developing a digital strategy, digital content management (both social and mobile), writing and editing for the web, and site management. This position entails the oversight and execution of harpoonbrewery.com and affiliated sites, Friends of Harpoon, social media platforms, and other digital initiatives that align with Brewery activities and branding. The Digital Marketing Manager also supervises a team of two.

    The ideal candidate will plan, develop, execute, and assess digital marketing strategy across all Harpoon channels in alignment with Harpoon’s marketing strategy. The position requires synthesizing a broad range of information on beer, company activities, and promotions and communicating across a range of channels. The Digital Marketing Manager will have the skills, perceptiveness, work habits, and genuine enthusiasm to speak to consumers clearly and with the Harpoon voice. Competency with web technologies is critical. The candidate must have the interpersonal skills to handle direct and repeated interaction with individuals across all internal functional areas.

    JOB DUTIES
    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Create annual digital plan and budget
    • Work cooperatively with key team members, clients and vendors
    • Uncover and recommend new opportunities for Harpoon to activate within digital, social, mobile, and emerging channel landscape
    • Manage planning and execution of paid media across digital, mobile, and social channels
    • Collaborate and integrate with offline communication and PR
    • Manage and oversee the growth and development of two professionals within the team
    • Lead development and implementation of content across sites using multiple CMS tools
    • Manage external vendor relationships across portfolio of Harpoon sites
    • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across Harpoon digital channels
    •Conduct yearly competitive review

    REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
    • Bachelors in Marketing, Advertising, Technology or Communications; or equivalent experience
    • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Digital Marketing role or with Digital Marketing Agency
    • Supervisory experience
    • Experience building and measuring paid media campaigns
    • Experience with reporting tools and digital analytics
    • Strong understanding of digital applications/platforms including mobile, web, and social)
    • Experience with reporting tools and digital analytics
    • Possess professional communications experience, ability to work with on-line technology and software tools (Google Analytics & Adwords
    Shoutlet, Mailchimp, CMS, Hashtracking, Facebook Ad Platform)
    • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Genuine enthusiasm for beer and a team player attitude is a must
