I have analyzed our brewing process to figure out how to produce more with less. We have a 7bbl mash lauter. I'm thinking of upgrading the boil whirlpool to a 30bbl.
Currently we mash, boil, knock out, mash, boil, knockout, ect to fill our 30s which takes 4 brews and about 20 hours of work start to clean up.
After spending a lot of alone time and thinking about the process, if I mash back to back 4 times and do one boil, one knock out vs 4 boils assuming we keep the 7 bbl mash and upgrade to a 30 kettle I can fill the CCT in about half the time, 10 to 12 hours start to finish. Not a bad work day.
Are there any known issues letting wort sit in the kettle while I do the next 3 run overs, maybe 4-6 hours before boil? I can't think of any nor I have read anything but I thought I would check with the all knowing forum.
Thank you for any thoughts.
