    Location: The Beer’d Brewing Co./ Stonington, CT
    Reports to: Operations Manager
    Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly Employee

    The Beer’d Brewing Company is a young brewery located in Stonington, CT. We brew and sell what we think is some of the best beer available. Most of our beer is sold face to face in our tasting room, and as such place great importance on customer service and perceived value. We are looking for someone to provide the best “beer experience” possible!

    Position Summary:
    The Tap Room Crew Member is responsible providing exceptional customer service.

    Essential Functions:
    •Adheres to and advances the “Safety Always” culture of The Beer'd Brewing Company.
    •Ensures our customers have the best possible experience in our tasting room.
    •Assists in opening and closing the tasting room.
    •Processes accurate and speedy transactions using our POS system.
    •Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment as assigned.
    •Supports fellow brewery staff in their respective responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or Tasting Room Manager.
    •Must be TIPS Alcohol Certified.
    •All day to day activities needed to keep the tap room running smoothly.
    •Must be able to work weekends and holidays.


    Other Functions:
    •Back up Tasting Staff
    •Back up Growler Staff
    •Additional duties may be assigned as necessary

    Required Qualifications:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    •Professional experience in a brewing or food/beverage processing facility.
    •Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Internet browsers.
    •Enthusiasm for craft beer and a commitment to understanding and supporting beer quality.
    Mental and Physical Requirements:
    •The ability to work unsupervised while maintaining established safety and quality standards.
    •The capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to the irregularities of a shift.
    •Attention to detail.
    •Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
    •Exemplary productivity and self-directedness.
    •Stands, walks, crouches, and lifts regularly throughout duration of shift.
    •Must be able to perform continues bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and lifting of moderate to heavy weight material up to 80lbs.
    •Must be able to work standing for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day.
    •Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell.
    •Ability to use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
    •Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
    •Must have basic math skills.

    Materials/ Machines/ Equipment Used:
    •Cleaning agents, and other potentially hazardous chemicals.
    •Brewery utilities, including: electrical, air compression, steam, water, compressed gasses, and glycol refrigerant.
    •Standard safety systems, including confined space air meters, fall restraint, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

    Work Environment:
    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    •The employee may works with hazardous materials and utilities.
    •The employee works on wet floors and with wet equipment.
    •The employee may at times work around high voltage, flame, hot water, steam, broken glass, and CO2 sources.
    •The employee frequently works in a sanitary environment.
    •The employee may sometimes works near moving mechanical parts.
