  • Style Guidelines now available from BA

The Brewers Association 2006 Style Guidelines are now available.

Throughout each year the Style Guideline committee gathers input from Great American Beer Festival (GABF) and World Beer Cup (WBC) beer judge comments, brewers and brewery industry representatives from around the world. The majority of the comments we receive are well thought out, passionate ideas telling us what people think beer means to them. These comments are incorporated into the style guidelines in an effort to keep them current and representative of the current beer marketplace. The core Style Revision Committee consists of Charlie Papazian, Paul Gatza, Ray Daniels and Chris Swersey, all of the BA.

The 2006 Style Guidelines can be found at:

The Ba notes that the guidelines are only style definitions which are the basis for competition judging. In the next few months they will be selecting styles and organizing them into either categories and subcategories for the 2006 GABF. Each year the content of the guidelines, as well as the organization of the categories at the GABF and WBC, change significantly based on entry numbers and other factors, and this year will be no exception.
