  • Date Coder Options for Cask ACS

We've been using a Superior Case Coding coder since starting our canning on our Cask 5 head ACS. We have it just after the twist rinse and before the conveyor belt. It isn't the most ideal spot but it got us by. As production has increased this coder is very unreliable. It will miss a number of cans. So we are looking for option that will work with this canning system. It has to be something that can sense the can passing and apply the code. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have the same 5 head cask ACS set up, we use a Tronics Videojet datecoder. It is very reliable.
We have it set up down low on the very start of the conveyor belt, it prints on the bottom lip of the can, not on the bottom of the can, but never misses a can.
We just have the coder in a sleeve, held by a bracket, the opposite the coder (on the otherside of the conveyor) is a metal detector held in by a bracket.

Thinking about trying to move it to a similar position that you have your datecoder so we can datecode on the bottom of can.

      Check this out-

Very reliable and lets you add accessories as you grow.

      Thanks

        coder options

Set up of the photocell and placement are critical to keep from skipping cans. Look at photocell settings for light/dark sensing, sensitivity adjustment, and placement in relation to the cans- upstream of the coder.. Also, placement of the coder in relation to cans is critical- coders have a limited distance they will throw ink.
