Position; Packaging / Maintenance Technician – GoodLife Brewing Company – Bend, Oregon
GoodLife Brewing Company is looking for an energetic and passionate person to join our growing team in wonderful Bend, Oregon. GoodLife Brewing is a production brewery currently producing 25,000+ bbls/year and growing. We believe in all things related to living a GoodLife and we like to see this in our daily work environment.
This position’s primary responsibilities will be to work in the Packaging Department and work with all aspects of our 20 head, 4 head seam rotary canning line. The Packaging / Maintenance Technician position is full-time and will report directly to the Production Manager. Additionally, the Packaging / Maintenance Technician’s other duties will include the help in troubleshooting, upkeep, repair and maintenance of the building, brewing, packaging and warehouse systems and equipment keeping production lines and systems operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
• Work canning and kegging shifts each day
• Work directly with Packaging Supervisor
• Ensure all equipment is operated safely and correctly
• Ensure only the highest quality product goes into our finished goods inventory
• Ensure all packages are filled correctly, dated, boxed and stacked properly
• Clean and Maintain all equipment in packaging area
• Ensure proper preventative and corrective maintenance issues are addressed in a timely fashion
• Help out as needed in all other parts of the brewery
• Taste the beer each day to ensure it is within spec
• Work on machinery to ensure it is functioning properly
• Work with management to ensure we have the materials we need to execute the schedule
• Attend team meetings
• Communicate needs and problems to Production Manager and Packaging Supervisor
• Help to maintain tool and spare parts inventories.
• All-around Handy Man/Woman
Qualifications include and not limited to;
• Positive attitude with an ongoing sense of urgency.
• Ability to understand and execute against deadlines.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proven ability to work with others.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in a production/packaging environment
Physical Requirements;
• Must be able to lift 55 pounds and move 170 pounds regularly.
• Must have the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel and crouch.
• The ability to work near moving parts and machinery.
• The ability to work in loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor and outdoor environments frequently.
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus and the ability to see color; either with or without accommodation.
