    Looking for:

    We are looking to fill several full-time LEAD OPERATOR positions. You must be dependable and a self-starter who takes pride in your work and goes the extra mile to do the job right. We are looking for a hardworking person who sets their standards high and is passionate about packaging quality beverages. This position requires flexibility in scheduling and occasional overnight stays as required. Great growth opportunities within our company for the right person.

    The job:

    The LEAD OPERATOR serves as the manager of each job, taking lead on both operation of our equipment and communication with the client. You must be able to work safely in a fast paced, production environment and play a critical part in building strong, lasting relationships with our customers.

    Responsibilities include:

    During a Job
    • Successful calibration of the product, occasionally under difficult, out-of-spec conditions
    • Troubleshooting mechanical problems that may arise during a job
    • Extensive pre-and post-job equipment cleaning and sanitizing
    • Lead on completing Brewery Run Logs and QC/QA processes, as well as any additional efficiency activities.
    • Working closely with brewery owners, head brewers and additional staff
    • Driving company trucks and ensuring all necessary supplies (packaging raw materials) are loaded appropriately
    • Act as lead during truck loading and unloading


    Between Jobs
    • Regular line maintenance (as identified in Equipment Maintenance Logs)
    • Lead communications and logistics on scheduling and supply packing
    • Managing and maintaining warehouse supply inventory


    Ideal candidates display the following qualities:
    • Previous brewery or packaging experience
    • Mechanical skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment on-site
    • Attentiveness, quick reaction and decision-making skills
    • Leadership skills and abilities
    • Willingness to work long, unusual hours in occasional harsh temperatures
    • Passion for and knowledge of beer, cider and other craft-produced liquids


    Required:
    • Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment on-site.
    • Excellent ‘people skills’ – we are customer driven and results oriented, and you should be too!
    • Long, irregular hours, which are commonplace in the beer industry.
    • Traveling daily to breweries throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
    • Overnight travel around the region, up to 1-2 days per month.
    • Able to lift over 50 pounds and stand throughout your shift.
    • Great verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of beer and brewing process
    • Clean driving record


    Preferred:
    • Previous brewery or packaging experience
    • Understanding on beer volume calculations, production brewery equipment and beverage carbonation principals
    • Experience operating box truck/large vehicle
    • Forklift operating experience
