    Position:* Production Manager/Asst. Brewmaster
    Location: Brewery, Kihei, HI
    Manager: Director of Brewery Operations
    Salary: $55,000 - $75,000

    Job Description: *First level management role primarily responsible for providing leadership and supervision of all production functions in both brewing and packaging departments. Provide support to total plant management. Maintain and execute all functions according to policy and procedure, safety requirements, and best practice.*

    Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
    Ensure that all beer is produced to standards and specification by following recipes and procedures as set by company standards and initiatives.
    Provide leadership and training to other staff members in the brewing and packaging departments in a lead by example fashion employing best practice.
    Maintain brewing, cellaring, filtration, packaging and other related documentation in an organized and complete manner.
    Provide direct floor management of all brewery functions including but not limited to Brewing, Packaging, and Warehouse.
    Directly supervise and facilitate constructive communication with Brewing, Cellar, and Packaging shift supervisors.
    Provide hands on relief of all positions as necessary.
    Follow, facilitate, and update work schedule as needed and maintained by Self or Director of Brewery Operations.
    Attend brewery staff meetings as required.
    Provide leadership in decision making situations as needed.
    Clean and sanitize all equipment and work areas to maintain consistent beer quality.
    Provide support and leadership in partnership with Quality Assurance Lead concerning QA/QC initiatives.
    Display a practical understanding of finished product distribution and product rotation/handling.
    Maintain healthy communication with other departments (QA/QC, Tasting Room, and Restaurant).
    Assist pub managers in beer training for new staff.
    Coordinate with pub managers and brewery staff for regular beer school training as needed and delegate to other brewing department leads as necessary
    Possess a well rounded knowledge of brewing and beer styles beer knowledge, formal taste panel experience is preferred.
    Conduct brewery tours as necessary.
    Willingness to participate in festivals and promotional events as needed while representing the company and the brand in a professional manner.*
    Manage beer and equipment for local accounts as needed.
    Recipe formulation and development across various styles.

    Job Requirements:
    Completion of a formally recognized Brewing Program strongly preferred
    Degree in associated field such as Food Science, Engineering, or Biological Sciences Preferred
    Minimum 5-years experience in a production brewery.
    Minimum 2- years experience in a management role in a brewery.
    Experience in recipe development and exposure to multiple styles is strongly preferred.
    Practical knowledge of SOP development and maintenance, safe operating practices and industry accepted quality standards
    Ability to work and communicate well with all staff.
    Competent with basic computer functions, Mac and PC are both applicable
    Organized and detail oriented.
    Focused troubleshooting skills in a brewing/manufacturing setting.
    Forklift Experience required

    Physical Requirements:
    Lift 55 lbs. from ground to shoulder high.
    Lift 110 lbs. from ground to waist high and moving 165 lbs. along the floor.
    Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders.
    Work in small and confined spaces.
    Work safely with chemicals with reasonable safety accommodations.
    Work in loud environment with basic safety accommodations.

    Hours & Wages:
    This position is an exempt position as described by the Fair Labor Standards Act and does not earn overtime pay. The total wages paid is defined in the salary section of a Job Offer. The weekly hours of work can vary as an exempt employee, and can be up to 50 hours a week. It is the employee’s responsibility to clock in and out so that hours worked can be accurately tracked, and important to bring to a manager’s attention if they feel they are going to exceed 50 hours in a current work week.
