Second Line Brewing Seeks Experienced Production Brewer
Primary responsibilities:
- Wort production, cellar maintenance, sanitation, yeast handling, packaging, QA/QC and participating/representing the brewery at various events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A formal brewing education, bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- At least two years of experience working in a brewery with a 10 barrel system or greater
- Attention to detail with willingness to learn and improve
- Competence with all aspects of brewing including record keeping, inventory controls, sanitation and overall brewhouse management
- Mechanically inclined, understands the basics of equipment operation, scheduled maintenance and repair
- Proactive and can think creatively to improve processes in a timely manner
- Ability to work long hours and a varied schedule – this is a startup
- Team player, open to feedback and ability to operate within established timelines
- Forklift certified or ability to get certified
- Must be a team player that can work well under pressure
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 50-60 lbs
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Capable of climbing ladders and stairs
- Ability to work with hazardous chemicals
- Ability to work in a hot and cold environment

Interview Process
- Phone screening followed by in-person interview at brewery for a day to walk through individual’s experience and understanding of brewing process
- Candidate will be required to provide samples of beers they have developed/brewed.
