La Quinta Brewing Co. is looking for a Head Brewer. Although we’re just 2 years old, we are a rapidly growing 2,000 bbl/yr production brewery (with a current capacity near 5,000 bbls/yr) in the Palm Springs area. In our short time, we’ve managed to acquire over 200 accounts in the desert and will soon start distributing outside of the Coachella Valley. The Head Brewer is responsible for every aspect of operations of the brewery. Areas of Responsibility include:
Recipe development
Brewing recipes to spec
Filtering on a plate and frame filter
Supervision of packaging operations
Quality Assurance
Cleaning and sanitation of all equipment in the brewery
Yeast management
Tank management
Troubleshooting
Technical maintenance
Mentoring of team members
Supporting and interfacing with management
To impart knowledge about beer and brewing to our taproom guests and team members
Cutting controllable costs and maintaining a profitable brewery
Use of proper and safe chemical handling techniques
Daily cleaning and upkeep of appearance in brewery
Safety Protocols and OSHA compliance
Representing LQBC at beer events
Requirements:
Brewing experience in a craft brewery.
Ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly and safely.
Employees must be able to work as a team doing any and all aspects of the process to assist each other in executing the tasks in an efficient manner.
Flexibility with work hours and availability is a must.
