Can anyone point me in the direction as to where I would be able to source small orders of blank cans? Something on the order of 2 pallets at a time? Given the popularity of canning nowadays there has to be a reseller out there somewhere that carries stock and can ship on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

You just described the project I've been focusing on this week. What I've found so far, and I'm sure it's not new info, is that Crown isn't doing anything for anyone new, Ball will sell you bright 202's but, at a minimum of a truckload per order (25 skids) and Rexam doesn't return inquiries... Cask will sell you cans, but again a half truckload minimum, with one skid of lids and they must be printed. The best option I've found so far is to acquire them through Berlin Packaging, they have some pretty neat options, none of which include exactly what you're looking for, but they come closer to it than anyone else.
