Hi Brewers, My welder delivered 4bbl conicals a couple of months ago and the weld seams were very rough, so he took them back and hired a guy suposedly a specialist in ploshing to finish the job, they delivered them yesterday and I belevie theyr still not good enough for fermenting, I may be wrong, so im attaching a pic of the roughest part and you guys be the judge.

I went through this recently with a "new" local Welder. I did some research and bought the correct polishing discs and I was absolutely amazed how quick and easy. Your Welder does not know what constitutes "sanitary"

We dont have proper welders here and theres no brewery equipment companies either, Im so tired of dealing with this. I think im going to have to finish the job myself, can somebody please point me in the right direction to purchase the correct discs, ive been trying to fix the worst parts with my dremel and there is some improvement.

            3M Multifinish wheel

Try using a 3M Scotchbright Multifinish wheel.

You can get an adapter to put them on a standard angle grinder. These will give you a great finish in a few minutes where as your Dremel will take you a lifetime.

That's the same disc that I purchased and used. You'll be amazed at the finish that it leaves and how quick it is.

Was your finish as bad as mine? I visited a place specialized in polishing hardware and they recomended a quick polish with 60, 80 and 120 grit wheels and then the multifinish disc.

Mine was on my racking arms so very small, but they were just as bad.
