Oskar Blues Brewery is hiring a Quality Control Lab Technician at our Brevard, NC location. Candidates must be driven, hard-working and team oriented, with a strong desire to learn and work efficiently in the busy environment of a quickly growing production facility.

Responsibilities include:
- Daily sterile microbiological sampling and analysis
- Chemical reagent and microbiological media preparation
- Various quantitative QC tests
- Yeast management
- Equipment calibration and maintenance
- Operation of an autoclave for sterilization
- Work dynamically with fellow employees
- Daily data logging
- Create functional spreadsheets and present information effectively
- Research and present outside information on brewing related processes
Requirements:
- Ability to follow established SOPs
- Understanding of basic statistical analysis
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends
- Dedication to safety protocols, vigilent cleaning and a professional work environment
- Strong understanding of the brewing process through education or work experience
- Operational knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; Microsoft Access a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with manager and coworkers
- A love of nature, bikes, doing anything outdoors, and generally being awesome is a plus
- Of course, a true appreciation of quality beer
- B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, or related field
- Lab and brewery experience preferred
