Cellar Position
Bent Paddle Brewing Co.
Duluth, MN
30 Barrel System producing 16,000+ barrels per year.
The primary purpose of this position is tank cleaning, sanitation, centrifuging and final carbonation of product; while assisting the brewing staff in recipe prep, milling in, organization and overall cleanliness.
This position requires a love for beer and an interest in how it is brewed, processed and packaged. Experience in a production brewery is preferred; as well as a high energy level, a sense of urgency and a concern for details is needed. Also must be physically able to lift 55 lb. grain sacks, drag heavy hoses across the floor and perform other physically demanding duties, such as moving ½ barrel kegs weighing 170 lbs. Forklift experience is also preferred but not required.
All in a Days Work:
• Tank cleaning and sanitizing
• Yeast management
• Centrifuging beer
• Track all data points / samples carefully during cellar process
• Tank transfers
• Coordinate with production and packaging team
• Carbonate beer
• Work with brewers on QA/QC and consistency of product
• Equipment maintenance and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Brewery safety and OSHA compliance
• Assist production and packaging as needed
• Weigh Hops
• Assist on the canning line
• Assist in tracking of weekly inventory levels and product availability
• Stock organize and maintain cleanliness of brewery stations
• Cleaning is a critical part of good brewing and quality beer. This position requires a lot of cleaning; from tanks to floors and everything in between
• All other duties as assigned – specifically packaging and brewhouse work as needed
