  • Does anyone have a keg washing / filling unit that they would recommend?

Starting to shop these, we will be brewing on a 2.5 bbl system and using 1/6 kegs exclusively . Having a tough time finding a keg washer / filler. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

For a nano, even a single-head semi-manual washer/filler will probably cost more than the rest of your brewery combined. In almost any small brewery, the washed/sanitized/purged kegs are filled manually off a unitank or brite. For the most part, nanos are building some kind of manual keg cleaner (search the forum for "DIY keg"), but if you have the budget you can buy something from GW Kent, Premier, PBST, etc. Expect to pay $10k+ depending on country of origin and automation options.

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

Stop by the Dam, I'll show you what we use. You just need a pump, two reservoirs, and some hoses and couplers. Don't spend 10k+ on something you could build for a lot less.

Please post some pictures of your set up here I would love to see it. We are brewery in planning so I will have to build one in the next few months.

I will try later. Ours is made by JVNW and we clean 4 1/2bbl kegs at a time. It has two reservoirs for caustic and sani, butterfly valves and the bottom or the res, and a manifold for the kegs lines. Runs on a 1.5 hp pump.

It is pretty manual, and I'm not saying that it is better than a machine really, but would be much cheaper if you are doing small amounts of kegs like these guys. We are looking at upgrading to a machine someday, mainly to free up man hours for other projects.
