Union Craft Brewing seeks Shift Brewer/ Cellar Person
Union Craft Brewing, located in beautiful picturesque Baltimore, Maryland, is looking to hire a shift brewer/cellar person. We are looking for someone with a high attention to detail that is self-motivated and has a desire to be a part of a fun, hard-working crew. We would prefer someone with previous production brewery experience that feels they can use their knowledge to help improve the overall brewery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Producing high quality wort to the specifications of the head brewer
• Flexibility to work a rotating schedule based on production and packaging needs.
• Communicate effectively with fellow team members to ensure proper working environment.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, word and other current software.
• Perform Cellar duties including but not limited to: Yeast management, dry hopping, CIP, gravities and cleaning
• Work festival and events
• Perform daily maintenance and cleaning
• Assist with barrel program and filling firkins when needed
• CIP both of FVs and Brewhouse
• Keep accurate paperwork and records of brewhouse and cellar work
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Looking for someone with a strong brewing background
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• High attention to detail
• Self motivated with the ability to multitask
• Ability to work in brewery conditions that can be: hot, cold, wet, tight and dirty
• Ability to lift 55 pounds over and over again
• Required to work with hazardous chemicals
• Degree in Brewing and/or Food Science preferred but not required
• 1 year production brewery experience preferred
