Bench Brewing Company is opening a brewery with a focus on wild and farmhouse ales in Beamsville, Ontario. Located in the Niagara fruit belt, we are looking to create expressive beers with a sense of place and terroir.
Essential functions
• Manage daily packaging operations across a Wild Goose canning line (WC250), Prospero bottling line (GAI-881) and Premier semi-automatic 3 head keg washer.
• Utilize a 5S method to maintain a clean, well-organized and safe workplace in a brewery producing both saccharomyces-only and wild/mixed fermentations
• Assist department heads to continually drive improvement of packaged product quality
• Create, maintain, audit and ensure compliance of SOP’s and Checklists
• Train packaging line staff and develop training programs, with a focus on retention and skill development
• Performance of preventative and restorative maintenance on brewery equipment
• Manage day-to-day inventory of packaging materials
• Oversee work schedule for packaging department
Qualifications
• +3 years of packaging experience in a 10,000HL/year or larger brewery
• Relevant tertiary education or brewing-specific professional development
Preferred skills
• Demonstrated problem solver/analytical thinker
• Resourceful with a can-do, get-it-done attitude
• Sound knowledge of brewing science
• Strong team building and communication skills
• Ability to use sound judgment under pressure
• Pride in work and passion for quality
