Over Flow Brewing Company
Over Flow is a Production Brewery, Tap Room and Retail Craft Beverage start up that is under development in the heart of Downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. OBC will be operating on a 15 BBL HG system looking for a gifted brewer to manage and support production as well as new product development. Over Flow is moving from its planning phase into its location and team development phase. The Brewery has been interviewing many amazing candidates and is looking for more enthusiastic, creative yet seasoned brewers that we can build our brewery and team around. This individual should be future minded with expansion on the horizon.
Job Description:
The Head Brewer will be working with Over Flow’s Management Team to produce a brewery experience that is focused on the craft products, processes and staff. The main responsibilities of the Head Brewer are to produce and manage the entire brewery processes from start to finish. As defined below the responsibilities of the head brewer include the execution of all phases of creating consistent, award winning craft beverages. We are looking for candidates motivated to grow their professional brewing career!
OBC team members should expect between 35-45 hours of work per week. Full time employees are eligible for benefits, paid vacation following the probationary period.
General Duties and Responsibilities of the head brewer:
• Beer production on a 15 bbl HG steam brewhouse
• Recipe Development
• CIP and COP of fermentation vessels and brewhouse
• Yeast management and handling and lab processes
• Transferring beer and cider from fermentation to serving tanks
• Cellar operations
• Canning line assistance
• Assisting the management team in future expansion plans and goals
• Key participant in Team Meetings
• Inventory, Administrative, and CRA work related to Over Flow Brewing Company.
• Adhere to all safety protocols set in place by OBC
Abilities and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Be at least 19 years of age
• Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
• Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
• Two or more years brewing at a similarly sized craft brewery
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Physical Qualifications:
• Able to lift 35lbs; able to move 55lbs using tools such as a hand truck or a forklift.
• Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis Able to stand and work for up to 12 hours at a time.
• While primarily an inside job, must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat).
• Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and frequently lift 60lbs. and occasionally up to 150lbs.
Desired Qualifications:
• Four or more years brewing at a similarly sized brewery, with formal / theoretical training from an industry recognized brewing institution.
• Degree from a 4-year accredited university or equivalent experience
• Proficient is MS Office Suite (PPT, Excel, Word, etc.), cloud-based software and databases, and mobile applications.
