  • Filled Can Weight and Tolerance

My can + lid weighs 16 grams. 12 FL-OZ of water weighs approximately 354.84 grams. So my final can weight should be approximately 370 grams, correct? If not, what do you get for your finished 12-oz cans? Also, is there +/- tolerance that is acceptable? For example, my first run I am getting filled cans that weigh approximately 368 grams, is that acceptable?

Any help anyone with more experience can lend would be most appreciated. Cheers!

    can weights

TTB acceptable fill level range for a 12 oz can is 358-378 grams. Industry standard excellent is plus or minus 3 grams from 368 grams. Lowest acceptable is plus or minus 10 grams from median.

    Cheers,

    Don
