QA/QC MANAGER
Reports to: Director of Brewing Operations
JOB SUMMARY
The QA/QC Manager is responsible for the general oversight and development of the Quality Department at Upslope Brewing Company. An important part of the Production team, the QA/QC Manager collects, monitors and analyzes data, designs and implements controls and ensures quality of product from raw material, through production and into the market.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collect, monitor and file fermentation data in proper software
Perform yeast analysis including cell counts and pitch analysis
Conduct thorough microbiological analysis using various lab equipment
Perform water testing as needed
Set and perform quality control checks through all production processes
Collect quantifiable, post-production data
Follow up on all field quality incident reports and perform necessary testing on available samples
Maintain a validated tasting panel to produce quantifiable sensory data on produced beer
Provide educational tastings within Upslope departments on off-flavor recognition
Manage lab interns and internship programs
Build SOPs for all current lab procedures and tests
Create new SOPs for new procedures, tests, and quality checkpoints

REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience in QA/QC and/or the brewing industry is highly preferred
Must be able to make independent, executive decisions regarding quality of product
Must possess excellent communication skills
You will be working with every department in the brewery (brewers, cellar, packaging, shipping, marketing, PR, tap room, sales, etc.)
Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Must be able to organize and analyze a variety of data
Ability to use all equipment and software associated with QA/QC Department
