Bentonville Brewing Company is seeking a full-time Brewer. We are a growing brewery in a beautiful area of Arkansas that is making the lists as Best Places to Live!
Our brewers operate our brewing equipment efficiently, accurately, and safely to produce quality beer according to our operating procedures and parameters.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Brewing Operations
Wort production including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpool, grain-out, setup and handoff to next shift
Cellar work, including beer transfers, carbonation, yeast handling, cleaning and
sanitization of tanks or Clean-in-Place (CIP) of brewery vessels
Accurately record all aspects of the brew including proper use of BeerRun, to accurately track production operations and inventory
Contribution to the continued development of our standard operating procedures
Quality Control
Brew beer precisely according to the written recipe and SOP
Collaboration with our quality manager to ensure our beer meets internal quality standards
Communicate with lab on quality of wort production
Teamwork
Training of new production employees as well as existing employees on new equipment or procedures
Contribution to our specialty beer program
Representation of Bentonville Brewing Company at special events and company activities
Safety
Follow all cleanup procedures post brewing/cellaring
Follow all safety standards
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Two or more years of professional brewing experience in a production brewery
Experience with recipe development
Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
Passion for brewing and creating quality beer
Comprehensive understanding of brewing science, production, and cellar operations
Motivated and detail oriented
Experience operating canner/bottler
WORK SCHEDULE
Brewery operations can be underway seven days a week, 24/hours a day although we primarily operate on a Monday thru Friday workweek
Willingness to work on weekends and overnight is required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk: climb; use hands to finger, handle, or feel: reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and hear. The employee must regularly lift more than 50 pounds and maneuver 175 pounds. Specific abilities in this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Employee may be exposed to temperature changes, wet or humid conditions, noise, vibrations, and other brew production-related hazards when in the brew production and storage areas. Work is primarily performed in a production-brewing environment.
